Daniel Bryan is not being released by the WWE

2015 wasn't the easiest of years for Daniel Bryan.

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was forced to relinquish his second title in less than a year after suffering a string of concussions, with the last culminating in him having to hand back the Intercontinental Championship he won at WrestleMania 31 in a Ladders match.

D.Bry still hasn't been cleared to make a return to the ring by WWE's top doctor and a rumor circulated yesterday that Bryan was actually being released by the company. However, that isn't the case.

Wrestling reporter and blogger Scott Keith posted an anonymous email on his website blogofdoom.com last week from someone claiming to work in WWE's Human Resources department saying that Bryan would be released this week.

As it turns out, the email was a complete fake, with Keith being trolled by 'Scotsman' - a man who has duped the blogger multiple times over the years with fake news and leaks.

A user on the Squared Circle sub-Reddit noticed the first letter in each paragraph of the email spelled out "Scotsman," revealing the gag. Scotsman then went on to show up in the SquaredCircle circle comment thread, replying with just a simple smile.

Back to Bryan, it is being reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that the leader of the Yes Movement currently has no plans to be involved in the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania.

The WWE's head of medical, Dr. Joseph Maron, has still not cleared him and Vince McMahon will be hesitant to use the superstar unitl he does - especially in today's environment with an added emphasis on concussions in sport and wrestling.
