Neymar takes on the crossbar challenge

Neymar, at this moment in time, is arguably the most skillful elite footballer on the planet.

The Barcelona superstar, who finished third in the voting for the 2015 Ballon d’Or earlier this week, can do pretty much anything with the ball at his feet. The Camp Nou has its new Ronaldinho.

Back in October, Neymar showcased his skills alongside the hugely popular F2Freestylers. The video has racked up almost four million hits and now additional footage of the Brazilian taking on the crossbar challenge has been uploaded. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).

Neymar, from the edge of the 18-yard box, is given five balls and must attempt to hit the bar with each.

It’s not an easy challenge - but Neymar makes it look pretty straightforward by successfully hitting the bar four times.

Neymar is destined to become the world's best

The 23-year-old was a phenomenon during his formative years with Santos and his early performances prompted just about every top European club to make a play for his signature.

In the end, Barcelona won the race for the Brazilian - although the transfer has since landed the Catalan giants and Neymar himself in hot water - and the forward has gone from strength to strength since arriving at the Camp Nou.

Dani Alves was angered that Neymar received less votes than Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo for the Ballon d’Or this week but is certain it won’t be too much longer before his compatriot lands his hands on world football’s most coveted individual accolade.

It’s hard to disagree with that assessment - Neymar, it seems, is destined to become the world’s best player.
