Mamadou Sakho sends Olivier Giroud message after Liverpool vs Arsenal

Arsenal star Olivier Giroud may well have netted a brace at Anfield on Wednesday night, but Liverpool ace Mamadou Sakho would have left the field of play in fine spirits after Joe Allen netted a late equaliser. 

There were so many talking points during the clash on Merseyside that the clash of heads between Giroud and Sakho understandably went under the radar. 

But following proceedings, the collision has well and truly been brought to prominence by Liverpool's robust defender.

Indeed, Sakho took it upon himself to take a Snapchat of the mega bruise on his forehead. 

In fact, the Liverpool ace even thanked his France international teammate for the rather large bump.

Liverpool must improve defensively 

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may well have a number of injury problems at the back - the likes of Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel and Joe Gomez are on the sidelines - but he will still be hoping to see an improvement from his side sooner rather than later. 

Individual errors appear to be costing the Reds, but it's not only the back-four hindering his side's progression; goalkeeper Simon Mignolet continues to frustrate and must start proving his credentials on a consistent basis. Liverpool must improve ahead of the visit of Manchester United on Sunday.
