WWE star Kevin Owens returns to NXT to confront Sami Zayn

The careers of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have diverged greatly over the past six months or so.

When Owens made his WWE debut he power bombed John Cena, while Zayn lost to the 15-time World Champion and suffered a shoulder injury in the process that kept him out of action for months on end.

Meanwhile, Owens went on to beat Cena in his first actual match, before winning the Intercontinental Championship and establishing himself as one of the top heels in the WWE. Sami, on the other hand, has only just returned to action. Well, the two bitter rivals clashed again last night in spectacular fashion.

Owens returned to NXT at the Milwaukee house show on Thursday night, coming out following Zayn's match against newcomer Tomasso Ciampa to cut the crowd favorite back down to size.

Owens confronted Zayn in the ring, burning him with lines like “I’ve been the guy main eventing while you’re at home licking your little wounds" and that "Vincent Kennedy McMahon probably doesn’t even know who you are.”

The former Kevin Steen might actually have a point there, seeing as it is widely known that Vince doesn't really watch NXT at all and that Sami making his debut in Montreal may have just been a one-time thing to make the crowd happy.

However, the heel went home with his tail between his legs after Zayn eventually grew fed up of his verbal onslaught and delivered a Helluva Kick to his former Ring of Honor foe. You can check out a video of Owens' return here...

Could this be the start of a feud between two? It seems unlikely at the moment, but the two having a match at WrestleMania 32 later in the year would be an incredible treat for the WWE Universe.
