Adnan Januzaj will take the headlines after a brace on his first appearance for Manchester United Under-21s since returning from Borussia Dortmund earlier this month - but Andreas Pereira also caught the eye with a wonderful individual performance against Southampton.
The 20-year-old was brimming with confidence at Leigh Sports Village and took the crowd’s collective breath away with several moments of real quality.
The Brazil Under-20 international, who was born and raised in Belgium, was on the bench at Anfield on Sunday afternoon and could find himself battling with Januzaj for a place in the first-team’s matchday squad against the Saints this weekend. (Scroll down this page to watch Pereira’s skills).

During one moment in the match, Pereira produced two lovely pieces of skill in the space of 10 seconds.
He played a quick two-touch pass to a teammate and then brilliantly back-heeled the ball into the path of Januzaj, who was awarded a penalty after he was fouled inside the box.

Pereira also went close to scoring a potential Goal of the Season contender when he juggled the ball three times - one of his touches took out a Southampton defender - before volleying the ball towards goal with his left foot. It took a top save from the Southampton goalkeeper to deny him.

Pereira is staying at United
Manchester United fans will be delighted that the club managed to tie Pereira down to a new contract at the end of last season.
The youngster signed a new three-year deal - with the option for a further year - following speculation linking him with a host of top European clubs.
