The time is nearly upon us again, that time where 30 men enter the squared circle in an attempt to better the other 29 in the Royal Rumble.
Normally, achieving this would cement the winner’s spot in the main event of WrestleMania where they would battle the World Champion for the title.
However, as we learned a few weeks back on Monday night Raw, this won’t be the case for this year’s match. Instead, the winner will instead walk away with the title firmly in their grasp.

The decision was made by Vince McMahon in an attempt to have Roman Reigns lose the title he has fought so hard to win. This article will look at the biggest potential players in this match and who stands a chance at winning both the 2016 Rumble and the title.
Roman Reigns has come a long way since his win in the Royal Rumble match in Philadelphia last year. In fact, he was booed out of the building that night, and less than a year later, was cheered out when he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
However, the obstacles he has to overcome don’t seem to be letting up just yet, and it seems that come the Royal Rumble, where Reigns will enter at number one, he will have the belt taken from him once again.
Brock Lesnar has been announced as being in this match, albeit against his wishes. The Beast Incarnate wanted to challenge the champion at WrestleMania, however Vince and Stephanie McMahon had other ideas.
Lesnar will undoubtedly play a massive part in this match, and may even make it to the final three competitors, but a rumoured match against Chris Jericho at WresteMania may spell out that he will be getting thrown over the top rope.
Triple H hasn’t been seen on WWE television since he was taken out by Roman Reigns at the Survivor Series PPV last year.
Reigns showed a mean streak we hadn’t seen in him since Seth Rollins stabbed he and Dean Ambrose in the back, and he took out The Game. Since then, he has won the world title and has defended it with odds stacked against him. Don’t be surprised if the Cerebral Assassin returns in the Rumble match and leaves as the champion.
The inclusion of this man’s name in this list may surprise you, but while it is highly unlikely that he would walk out of the arena with the belt, it doesn’t mean that he won’t be a key player.
It could be that Vince announces himself as a participant in order to help eliminate Reigns before voluntarily leaving the ring and eliminating himself. It would be a sneaky move by the WWE Chairman, but would certainly surprise the fans, and the champion.
