Jurgen Klopp said “hamstring” was his least favourite word of 2015 and his hatred for the word has certainly continued into the new year.

That’s because, according to reports, Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira has just suffered a hamstring injury.

Earlier in the day it appeared a deal to bring Teixeira to Anfield was imminent with delegates from the club, including chief executive Ian Ayre travelling to Florida to meet with Shakhtar and the player.
