The Royal Rumble is this coming Sunday and even though the WWE have pulled out all of the stops to make it a huge event, it still won't be as big as they had planned it to be.

There is currently a fairly extensive injury list on the WWE roster including stars like Seth Rollins, John Cena and more.

Out at the worst time

One of the names on the injury list - much to the dismay of many fans is Cesaro.

The Swiss Superman was in the midst of a major push up the roster prior to his injury which has seen him sidelined since November.

He is one of the most popular superstars amongst the fans and one of the most talented in the ring, but his absence has left a hole that needs filling.

Cesaro was recently speaking about his injury and a possible return date, he may not have been able to give a confirmed return date but he did give members of the Cesaro section hope.

"My recovery is going really well, so I hope to be back soon, but I do not know when exactly,” “I have to wait for the doctor.” - Cesaro on his return

It was on November 23rd that Cesaro underwent surgery on his injured shoulder with no specific date given for his return.

Some had speculated that he could be back in time for the Royal Rumble, however unless he is to be a surprise entry, that seems very unlikely.

The next milestone will be WrestleMania where fans will hope to see the former Andre the Giant memorial Battle Royal winner in high profile match.

Sunday's favourite?

Heading into the Royal Rumble, there are several big names who are favourites to win the 30 man main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The Champion Roman Reigns is of course amongst the biggest names in the match, alongside Bray Wyatt and Brock Lesnar.

However the real favourite is a man who no-one would have expected, the COO of WWE, Triple H.

Could Triple H become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and go to WrestleMania to defend his title?
