Cesc Fabregas called a snake by steward

Cesc Fabregas knew he would receive his fair share of stick after agreeing to join Chelsea in the summer of 2014, due to his previous status as an Arsenal hero.

The truth is, Fabregas almost certainly would have rejoined Arsenal after making the tough decision to leave his beloved Barcelona, but Arsene Wenger was convinced his side already had enough midfielders of Cesc’s ilk to make do without the World Cup winner.

Determined to leave the Camp Nou, despite Wenger’s surprise snub, the Spaniard accepted Jose Mourinho’s offer and the rest is history.

Arsenal fans booed Cesc during their first encounter with the ex-Barcelona star, which must have hurt the Spaniard, but the Gunners’ faithful weren’t as hostile during last April’s 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

A number of Arsenal fans applauded the 28-year-old as he walked off the pitch at full-time with a red shirt on his back.

Video: Steward calls Fabregas a snake

But earlier this season, a steward working at Stamford Bridge - presumably an Arsenal fan - couldn’t resist the opportunity to take a sly dig at Fabregas as he was about to leave the stadium.

“You’re a snake,” he told the midfielder, in footage obtained by ArsenalFanTV regular Moh Haider. “You’re Arsenal”.

Fabregas looked startled by the insult and had a word with one of the steward’s colleagues before the video cuts.

Fabregas doesn't deserve abuse from Arsenal fans

Arsenal fans have no justifiable reason to feel bitter towards Fabregas.

He gave his all for the north London outfit for eight years and wanted to return but was denied the chance by Wenger.

Chelsea were one of the few elite clubs who offered him what he desired: the chance to win silverware.

And by winning the Premier League title in his first season as a Blue, Fabregas proved that he made the right decision.
