Petr Cech may well be gearing up to take on Chelsea this weekend but the shot-stopper actually made a visit to his former club this week.

The veteran may well be donning the Arsenal shirt these days but he is still hailed as a hero by so many inside Stamford Bridge.

One thing is for sure, despite moving to the club's London rivals, the 'keeper is still a welcome presence at the club.

That's probably a good thing as Cech had to make his way to the club to pick up his new pair of gloves that Adidas mistakingly sent to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink, who managed Cech during his first spell in west London, has admitted that the club attempted to make the goalkeeper's gloves 'a little bit slippery'.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's fixture between the two sides, the experienced coach told reporters: "He turned up here. It was nice. We had a nice chat, we tried to hide the gloves. We tried to make the gloves a little bit slippery. I think he discovered that. No it was nice."

Cech the difference

It's all fun and games at this stage, of course, but there is a belief that Cech has actually changed the dynamic of this season's title race.

While Chelsea have endured a disastrous season - the Blues are currently in 14th position in the Premier League - Arsenal have established themselves as one of the main contenders for the title.

Indeed, Cech's role has been imperative for Arsenal and he really could inspire them to success over the coming weeks and months. He may well be the difference on Sunday.
