Manchester United: Meeting with Pep Guardiola never took place

Published 2 Comments

Manchester United are denying that they’ve approached Pep Guardiola over the possibility of the Spaniard replacing Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford. BBC Sport today run with the story that United are refuting claims over a supposed meeting that took place - this in spite of the fact that Van Gaal is expected to be leaving this summer. United for Guardiola? It’s entirely possible, plus enough to get most Red Devils fans praying that there’s some element of truth to it. Perhaps not with regards to a physical meeting, but it would be a huge surprise if United weren’t interested. Elsewhere, the club have apparently put transfers on hold as the uncertainty surrounding Van Gaal increases. The powers that be are trying to clarify the situation for the immediate future and so don’t want to be making big moves in the transfer market that might later go awry. Good call, in our opinion.
