After a historic Royal Rumble match, Roman Reigns can now be called an ex- WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Reigns entered number one in the match but was the second to last man eliminated despite not being in the ring for an extended period of time.

Game changer

The 30th entrant this year walked out with the title as the COO of the company Triple H returned to in ring action and became a 14 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Triple H's main target from his entry was always Reigns and he was the man to make him a former champion after he eliminated the number one entrant himself.

Triple H is now the new Champion and is expected to go all the way to WrestleMania holding the belt.

Triple H eliminated Reigns and brought the match down to just him and Dean Ambrose before he would eventually eliminate the Lunatic Fringe to become Champion.

Reigns was attacked by the members of the League of Nations earlier in the match, resulting in him leaving ringside with medical aid before returning to deliver a Superman punch to Sheamus during his entry at the number 29 slot.

The crowd in attendance were - much like last year, certainly against Reigns once he returned to the match and they even cheered when he was eliminated.

The Game will now celebrate a new title reign and is likely to be in action as the Champion when WrestleMania 32 arrives in Texas.

The match gave us plenty of interesting face offs that we could even see return to the ring in time for the big event in Dallas.

A look into the future

We saw Brock Lesnar single handedly eliminate three members of the Wyatt family before they all illegally climbed back into the ring to eliminate the Beast incarnate.

Sami Zayn made a shock appearance and confronted his long time friend turned bitter rival Kevin Owens while we also witnessed the WWE debut of AJ Styles after weeks of speculation.

The Rumble gave us some previews of what we could see heading towards Mania and if they come true, we should be in for a fantastic night in Dallas.
