Despite joining Arsenal back in 2010, Wellington Silva is yet to make an appearance for the Gunners.

However, if the 23-year-old continues to put in performances like he did at the weekend, it won’t be long before Arsene Wenger recalls the Brazilian from his loan spell at Bolton.

When the Trotters made the loan signing, Wenger said: “He’s absolutely stunning to watch and I believe Bolton will be surprised by his quality.”

And it appears that the tricky winger is proving Wenger right, showcasing some brilliant skills during Bolton’s 3-1 win over MK Dons.

The Brazil Under-21 star showboated throughout his 86 minute performance and it would have certainly excited any watching Arsenal fans.

The winger agreed to join Arsenal from Fluminense back in January 2010 for £3.5 million but the transfer was delayed for a year due to the player only being 16-years-old.

When he eventually arrived in England, Wellington was denied a work permit meaning that Arsenal would have to send him out on loan for the following five years.

Loans at Spanish clubs Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia and Algeria meant that Wellington was issued with a Spanish passport, meaning he could qualify automatically to work in the United Kingdom and play for Arsenal.

However, the club felt that he needed to get used to English football before playing in the Premier League so loaned him out for Bolton for this season.

After the disappointing performance of Theo Walcott this weekend in their clash against Chelsea, some Gunners may be hoping that Wenger recalls Wellington into the first-team immediately.
