Football News

Championship Sunday has come and gone and it did not feel good for any New England Patriots who saw their team dominated by a very strong Denver Broncos defensive unit.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was hit more times than any other quarterback in a single match this season and their entire offense just looked ineffective.

Changes made already

The Patriots are not going to Super Bowl 50 but they have already started to make changes ahead of next season.

How will the New England Patriots comeback from their defeat in Denver? Have your say by signing up now to become a GMS writer:

Following the brutal defeat in Denver, the Patriots have fired their offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo after two seasons in the role.

The Patriots were 30th in the league when it came to running the football this season and saw their quarterback hit 20 times against Denver.

New England will now look forward and try to get a new coach in place as they strive to rebuild their running game and protect their quarterback next year.

The Patriots were one of the teams who suffered heavily through injuries in 2015 - a season which will be remembered for a controversial start but incredible on- field performances.

One of their most injured positions was the offensive line where the Patriots really struggled and were torn apart by Denver as a result.

The offensive line was changed so many times that the Patriots had more different line ups than any other team in the NFL this season.

The failings of the New England offensive line led to their passing offense being the go to style of play for them this season and at times, contributed to their downfall.

Another turbulent off-season

Now that their season is over, New England will look ahead to what could be another turbulent off-season for them.

With the issue of Deflategate set to rear it's ugly head for Brady once again and the team without a first round draft pick this year, the Patriots off-season moves are set to be as interesting as always.
