Louis van Gaal offered to resign from Man United on Saturday

Louis van Gaal has hit rock-bottom as Manchester United manager after Saturday’s home defeat to Southampton. The Guardian lead the charge on the Dutchman this morning by claiming he offered to resign after the weekend’s loss, only for Ed Woodward to convince him to stay. Van Gaal is set for more talks with Woodward today, we’re assuming they could decide his future, but one thing’s for sure - the seas around Old Trafford couldn’t be any more choppy at the moment. Is it Mourinho O’Clock yet? It certainly looks that way. Meanwhile, Juan Mata could only apologise for the result against Southampton, telling fans the players share their frustrations and admitting it hurts. Probably little consolation for supporters under the circumstances, but we’d like to know your thoughts. Should a shake-up commence? Let us know in the comments box.
