Manchester United are ready to make a move for Porto duo Bruno Martins Indi and Ruben Neves in an attempt to save their season.

This has been reported by The Sun, who claim that the Old Trafford outfit are ready to bring the talented duo to Manchester sooner rather than later.

United have endured a difficult season under the guidance of Louis van Gaal - a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton this past weekend has left them with it all to do in the race to secure Champions League football for next season - so it's not entirely surprising that they are hoping to change the dynamic of their squad.

As well as inconsistencies on the pitch, United have also had a number of injuries throughout the course of the season. The likes of Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick and Phil Jones are currently out of action.

It appears, then, that the club have set their sights on Martins Indi and Neves as they go in search of immediate improvement.

Double deal

Martins Indi, 23, featured under the guidance of Red Devils chief Van Gaal for the Netherlands national side and would help United's current problems in the defensive department. Neves, on the other hand, is just 18-years-old and is recognised as one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe.

But Neves, who predominantly acts as a defensive midfielder, is also wanted by Arsenal, so it won't be easy for the Red Devils to secure his signature.

It's clear for all to see that Manchester United need to add one or two names to their ranks in this window, but it remains to be seen as to whether they can get any of the deals over the line.
