As expected the clash between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs was a huge affair - if a little surprising in terms of the result it produced. What won’t shock fans is that the showdown between the Western Conference’s two top teams set a new record for being the most-watched telecast ever on NBA TV. The Monday night game averaged 1.4 million viewers, peaking at 1.7m to beat the previous record set by Game 6 of a 2014 first-round series between Indiana and Atlanta. The Warriors, of course, won the game 120-90. In other news, Blake Griffin will miss between four to six weeks after fracturing his hand whilst punching a member of the LA Clippers coaching staff. Griffin underwent a procedure yesterday after leaving the Clippers five-game road trip. He has a spiral fracture in the fourth metacarpal of his right hand.
