Peyton Manning’s all smiles as he gears up for Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos, but there’s reason for him to be just a little concerned with regards to the future. The NFL has opened an investigation into allegations that the quarterback had human growth hormones sent to his house. The 39-year-old said the claims, originating from Al Jazeera, are complete garbage, but nonetheless the NFL will pursue the matter. HGH is, of course, banned by the league - though a verdict isn’t expected before the Super Bowl on February 7th. Elsewhere, San Diego Chargers veteran Philip Rivers has confirmed he pondered retirement last offseason before penning a four-year extension in August. Rivers said he didn’t know if he was ‘there’ physically at the time, having suffered with injuries, but he’s now excited moving forward.
