Arsenal will have to fork out £25 million if they wish to sign Real Madrid’s wantaway midfielder Isco.

The 23-year-old’s agent has revealed Isco’s discontent in Spain and Arsenal now know how much it will take to prise him away from the Bernabeu.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial (per the Independent) disclosed Isco’s price tag and it is believed Arsenal are prepared to make a bid in the summer.

According to the Independent, the Gunners will face stiff competition from Manchester City for Isco’s signature and the Sky Blues are said to have an advantage with Manuel Pellegrini having managed Isco during his time at Malaga.

Even if Pellegrini is replaced by Pep Guardiola in the summer, the allure of a move to City remains. The club would become instant favourites to win next season’s Premier League by appointing Guardiola, who could also turn them from European regulars to European champions.

Despite Arsenal’s abundance of midfield players, the chance to sign Isco for £25m shouldn’t be passed up by Arsene Wenger.

The Madrid man is technically superb and Arsenal, a team renowned for their fleeting style of play, would be a perfect fit for Isco to develop into a world-class talent.

Number 10

That said, it would certainly be interesting to see where he would fit in Wenger’s side. Isco’s favourite position is behind the striker but he stands little chance of dislodging the brilliant Mesut Ozil from the number 10 spot.

David Silva’s form for City has dropped this season and Isco would provide a stern challenge for a central position.
