Cam Newton sports outrageous pants as Panthers board plane for Super Bowl

Cam Newton has been accused of a lot of things this season as the Carolina Panthers made their way to Super Bowl 50.

Being understated is not one of them, however. And, as the NFC South franchise boarded the plane to San Francisco this afternoon ahead of the season-defining game, the headline-making quarterback proved just as much.


That's after Newton was snapped in some fairly outlandish zebra-print and gold pants which, you expect, only a man on course for the NFL MVP award could pull off.

It is unclear at this stage whether Newton's bold wardrobe choice was a fashion statement or the result of a lost bet - we're simply not qualified to comment.

The internet, on the other hand, has been quick to voice their opinion. Here are some of the best reactions so far:

One thing is for certain, you certainly can't imagine Newton's opposing quarterback in the upcoming Super Bowl, Peyton Manning, to be sporting the same attire in the lead up to their February 7 showdown.

That is what makes this year's season finale so intriguing, however. The contrasting styles of Newton and Manning on the field will be one of the key aspects of Super Bowl 50.
