WWE rumored to be sending Samoa Joe to main roster following WrestleMania

There is heavy speculation circulating in WWE that Samoa Joe is scheduled to join up with the main WWE roster after this year’s Wrestlemania 32.

In the Wrestling Observer newsletter, Dave Meltzer states: “I was told right now the debut is earmarked for Dallas [Wrestlemania 32] the day after, but that depends on creative and it may be delayed.”

With the plans WWE has for Samoa Joe, it seems unlikely that he will receive a call-up any time soon.

Originally, WWE had brought Samoa Joe in for a brief stint in NXT, and it was never believed the former TNA superstar would ever feature on the main roster.

However, WWE may have had a change of heart after signing AJ Styles, who feuded with Samoa Joe several times in TNA. It is extremely likely that WWE is looking to rekindle the feud between these two men which created some intense, exciting and entertaining matches.

However, Joe is currently scheduled to take on NXT champion Finn Balor at NXT Takeover: Dallas on April 1, 2016, for the NXT title.

It is highly unlikely that Joe would win the belt and get called up to Raw in such a short period of time. If Joe is set for a call up it is far more likely that Balor will retain his title, and continue to be the face of NXT.

However, there are reports that WWE is strongly considering giving Joe the title and extending his feud with Balor, which would result in him staying in NXT beyond early April.

NXT role

Another strong rumour circulating around the WWE is linked to former NXT champion Sami Zayn. WWE are eager to bring Zayn into the main roster to revive a feud with fellow Canadian superstar, Kevin Owens.

This would certainly make sense as Zayn eliminated Owens during the Royal Rumble match.

Sami Zayn has been impressing in NXT since 2013 and has even featured on Monday Night Raw, in an entertaining match with John Cena for the United States championship.

However, njuries have marred the superstar’s career. A potential call up for Zayn seems to be on the cards if Samoa Joe and Finn Balor are due to fight for the title at NXT Takeover: Dallas.
