Since 1995, Lineker has starred in over 100 adverts for the crisp makers, however, this must be the first time that the former Leicester City has been the side attraction.

The former England player happily plays the fool in the advert, with Messi's recent winning streak extending beyond the football pitch.

Messi claimed his fifth Ballon d'Or last month, with former Barcelona striker Lineker quick to give his view on social media on how highly the Argentinian should be regarded.

In his role as a presenter for the BBC, Lineker has previously interviewed football legend Diego Maradona, however, who would have thought that the former England striker would become acquainted with the current superstar of world football via crisps?

Do you think Messi deserves Lineker's praise as the best footballer ever? Have your say in the comment box below!
