Van Gaal excited for Pep Guardiola to take over at Man City

In another world and another dimension, Pep Guardiola might have been taking over from Louis van Gaal this summer. Alas, as it stands, the Spaniard will become Van Gaal’s most fierce rival. If the Dutchman keeps hold of his job then he and Guardiola will decide the Mancunian power struggle moving forward - Van Gaal’s now said he’s happy about the Bayern Munich coach’s appointment. LVG said he was pleased with the news - we’d say most Manchester United fans don’t share his view given Guardiola’s success rate. Meanwhile, Van Gaal has also admitted even he’s been surprised by the impact Anthony Martial has had since arriving. The young Frenchman was in fine form last night as he bagged the man of the match award during the win over Stoke City. That’s one transfer deal Van Gaal appears to have gotten right.
