Arsenal fans are completely overreacting to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's dance

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has had a frustrating season to say the least. Injuries, poor form and the emergence of Joel Campbell has seen the Englishman limited to just seven starts in the Premier League this season.

It is a familiar story for the self-branded 'Ox', who has had a variety of problems since joining the Gunners from Southampton in 2011. He is still only 22-years-old, but it appears some fans are already writing him off as a failed talent.

Of course, there is always likely to be some frustration at a youngster failing to hit the massive expectation placed on his shoulders, especially if said youngster just happens to be English. That goes some way to explaining why some Arsenal fans got very angry at Oxlade-Chamberlain for dancing in the tunnel prior to Tuesday's game against Southampton.

The video, which showed the Arsenal players heading out to the Emirates turf to go through their warm-up drills, also revealed Oxlade-Chamberlain to be a true 'Belieber' after he couldn't help but shift a few moves as Justin Bieber's 'What Do You Mean?' bellowed out on the tannoy system.

It was a harmless act, not meant to be seen by the judging eyes of the Twitter Universe, but that is where it has ended up and judgment has rained down on 'The Ox' like hellfire. First, let's take a look at this video, just so we're all clued up.

The reaction

Unfortunately, what little sense of humour these Arsenal fans have was sucked out of them after Southampton left north London with a hard-earned point. It put a serious dent in their title challenge and saw the Gunners drop to fourth place, behind even – wait for it – Tottenham.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who watched the game from the bench, seems to have become something of a target for the growing frustrations at the Emirates.
