Victor Valdes could still have a future at Manchester United, according to Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague.
In a Q&A on social media, as per Sky Sports, the Spanish football expert has revealed that Valdes has a year extension clause in his United contract, meaning that he could be involved at Old Trafford for the 2016/17 season.
Valdes, of course, departed Manchester in favour of a loan move to Standard Liege in January after a torrid period under Louis van Gaal.

The United boss failed to include Valdes in his plans for this season after he revealed that the goalkeeper had previously refused to play for the club's Under-21 side.
However, with the long-term future of Van Gaal in doubt, it appears that Valdes could make a surprise return to English soil.
Balague, then, has suggested that Manchester United have left the door open to Valdes as there could be a new man in charge of the club ahead of next season.
When initially asked about the prospect of Jose Mourinho becoming the new Red Devils boss, Balague responded by saying: "It is not done. And things are not done till they are done. Does he want to go? Of course. Are United considering a new manager for next season? They are. I will give you an example: Valdes finishes his contract in the summer, but there is a year extension clause.
"Because of that, United have let him go on loan instead of terminating his contract... in case the new manager wants him. That is the situation: there is no deal with Jose Mourinho. If people want to make the jump and assume it is all done, it is up to them. At the end, most fans only believe what they want to hear."
It's certainly going to be an interesting period for all involved at Old Trafford. Van Gaal appears to have it all to do to save his job and must act quickly pursuit of redemption.
Indeed, ahead of the club's crunch clash against Premier League champions Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, the Red Devils sit five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
