Barcelona media mock Arsenal wetting their pants in Champions League tie

Arsenal players are wetting themselves at the thought of playing Barcelona.

That is the claim made by Catalan newspaper Sport, who have produced a graphic cartoon featuring an Arsenal player getting rather anxious at the thought of facing Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Yet, despite the tie being over a fortnight away, Sport have got the first dig in at their English rivals.

The funny cartoon depicts two images of an Arsenal player, one with a clean pair of shorts and another with a yellow stain on his shorts.

The text on the left reads ‘Arsenal player’, while on the right it says ‘Arsenal player when he thinks of Barcelona’.

Luis Enrique’s are deservedly favourites ahead of their upcoming round-of-16 tie. Barcelona sealed their fifth consecutive win with a hard-fought 2-0 victory against Levante on Sunday as Suarez scored his 36th goal of the season.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are third in the Premier League after recording their first win in five league games against Bournemouth on Sunday.

Ozil the key

Mesut Ozil scored Arsenal’s first in the 2-0 win and you get the impression the German must produce a scintillating display if Arsenal are to have a chance of progressing to the quarter-finals.

The playmaker has experience of facing Barcelona from his Real Madrid days and Arsenal fans will be looking for Ozil to shine in Arsenal’s biggest game of the season.

Arsene Wenger can also seek the advice of Alexis Sanchez, of course.

The Chilean enjoyed three seasons at the Camp Nou and may be able to provide Wenger with a few hints on how to expose his former team.

Sport’s image, as funny as it is, could be a useful motivational tool for the Frenchman to post in the changing rooms.
