Football News

We reported earlier today that Daniel Bryan would be making his return to the WWE tonight on Raw. At the time, we didn't know if this meant he was cleared for action or was possibly announcing his retirement.

We now know it is the latter.

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion tweeted out to his fans earlier today that due to medical reasons, he will be retiring tonight and that he will elaborate further on the show.

Bryan was spotted in Phoenix flying to Seattle, which is where Monday Night Raw takes place tonight. He was sporting a new look as well as both his hair and beard had been trimmed.

The former Intercontinental Champion hadn't been seen wrestling in a WWE ring for months due to concussion issues. It now appears those issues have caught up with him and have brought an end to his wrestling career with the WWE.

Many fans will be disappointed to see Bryan retire, as he has been a strong fan favorite in the WWE for many years. It's unclear if he will be staying in the WWE and taking on another job, as reports in the past have stated he has been offered these roles but turned them down.

Bryan accomplished nearly everything someone could in professional wrestling, having plenty of memorable matches and moments, including an 18 seconds defeat to Sheamus at Wrestlemania 28, and his WWE World Heavyweight Championship victory at WrestleMania 30, and of course, the 'YES! Movement'.

We wish Daniel Bryan all the best for the future and thank him for his time in the ring in the WWE.
