Daniel Bryan confirms retirement from the WWE

So, it’s official. We hate to bear the bad news but Daniel Bryan has retired from the ring for medical reasons. The former WWE world heavyweight champion has been on a long sabbatical from the sport awaiting clearance to return after a string of concussions. However, he’s been told he can’t wrestle anymore - despite ignoring that advice for quite some time. Speaking to the crowd at last night’s RAW event he elaborated on his decision - needless to say WWE fans everywhere were left gutted. It’ll likely be a long goodbye for Bryan, who many had expected to perhaps return to the fold this year. He had repeatedly said that doctors had cleared him, though the organisation were unwilling to sanction his comeback if it meant putting his future health at risk.
