Watch: Rising Star game all-time highlights - includes fresh-faced LeBron and Melo

Ahead of Friday night's 2016 All-Star Rising Star Challenge game, the NBA has released a video mixtape showcasing some of the best moments throughout the exhibition game's history.

Starring the likes of Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, Paul George, LeBron James and Jason Kidd as fresh-faced youths, the video is a great reminder of where some of the modern game's biggest star's NBA careers began.

This year's class of first and second-year pros will be hoping to create some highlight worthy moments of their own.

There are so many awesome moments in the video (Jason 'White Chocolate' Williams' elbow pass, anyone?) it is hard to keep up. With so many bonafide stars having taken part in the game since its inception in 1994 it is hard to keep track of the names, too.

Pinpointing LeBron James' effort in the montage, for instance, he was part of a 2004 rookie roster than included; Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem. That quartet now has 10 NBA titles between them. Oh, and Melo was playing too.

Latest generation

Although the game's format has evolved in recent years into a U.S. vs 'Around the World' contest, that won't stop tonight's young rosters from putting on a show.

The likes of Karl Anthony-Towns, Jabari Parker, Kristaps Porzingis and Andrew Wiggins are amongst those taking to the hardwood in Toronto tonight.

Don't be surprised if any of the players involved put up plays that make future montages, and perhaps win NBA titles, further down the line.
