Guus Hiddink has fired a warning to Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard after he admitted a move to PSG would be “hard to turn down.”

The Belgian told Le Parisien that his aim is to win the Champions League and it would be hard to turn down a move to the French champions - or any other major European clubs.

Hazard drew criticism from Chelsea fans with the timing of his comments with the Blues facing PSG on Tuesday night in the Champions League last-16 in Paris.

The former Lille man signed a new contract worth a reported £200,000 in February last year but has struggled with form and fitness throughout this season.

Chelsea’s caretaker manager Guus Hiddink has warned Hazard that he has a lot of work to do before he thinks about the possibility of a move.

"Well, he has a contract that he extended but first he must get fit and show he is a top player and then for Chelsea, which is a top club, he can be of huge value,” Hiddink said in a press conference.

"In the near future there will be more speculation about who is coming here or who is going but I don't go into that.”

A hazardous campaign

Hazard has only managed one goal this season - a penalty in the 5-1 victory over MK Dons in the FA Cup fourth round in January.

This comes after the 25-year-old won PFA Player of the Year and Chelsea’s Player of the Year last campaign for his incredible performances which saw his club ease to Premier League glory.

Moving to a lesser league

But Hiddink has questioned Hazard’s desire to move from the Premier League to Ligue 1, where the French side are still unbeaten this season.

“PSG have big targets to win the Champions League and, step by step, they have gathered a reputation and are very serious about becoming one of the biggest teams in Europe, so this challenge, I can understand,” Hiddink said.

"But it is a different league. France is not a bad league but this team are now ahead [of second-placed Monaco] by 24 points.

"For me, I think big, big, big players always like to be in the biggest league, which is the Premier League, La Liga and also the Bundesliga,” he added.

Chelsea signed Hazard from Lille for a reported £32 million in June 2012. He has gone on to play 191 matches in all competitions for the Blues, scoring 50 goals.
