Mark Henry confirms rib injury

What looked like a botched ending could have been so much worse for WWE superstar Mark Henry, but the World's Strongest Man has took to Twitter to confirm that he did, in fact, injure his ribs.

Henry, who is reportedly set to retire from WWE in the near future, was in a match with New Day member Big E, after the stable came to blows with Henry on a previous show.

The match was going fine as planned but when it came to the ending, it looked like one of the two had botched up big time. That was until Henry struggled to move after the match and had to be helped to the back once the adverts started rolling.

With the two giants being involved in quite a physical match-up, Henry took a couple of big splashes from Big E, and by the time it came to the ending, it was clear there was a problem with the veteran.

With Big E set to finish the match with his finisher 'The Big Ending', it was clear Henry was struggling.

Despite Big E managing to get Henry onto his shoulders, he then collapsed onto the floor, which left the New Day member a bit confused.

However, he quickly jumped on top of him and pinned him for the victory.

Henry started to roll around clutching at his rib cage, and once the adverts started rolling, crew members from the back ran down to help Henry vacate the ring. This is according to people who were live at the show.

There were real fears that Henry had done legit serious damage, but he's cooled those reports by taking to his official Twitter account to confirm that his ribs do hurt, but he'll be okay.

With Henry's retirement expected to arrive in the near-future, the WWE universe will be hoping that this injury doesn't keep him out for the foreseeable future.
