Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant received a visit from a sporting legend with a very different collection of trophies on Friday night as he chatted with Barcelona and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
The Frenchman was at the Staples Center to watch the Lakers play the San Antonio Spurs in Kobe Bryant's last game against Tim Duncan and Co.
Henry visited his fellow countrymen and Spurs teammates Tony Parker and Boris Diaw before tip-off then met with Bryant in the Lakers locker room after watching him score 25 points with some vintage Mamba moments.
The Lakers had prepared a specialised Henry jersey with the number 14 and his surname on the back while a Barcelona top had been printed with 'Bryant 24' on.
Kobe is a huge soccer fan having grown up in Italy and has made no secret of his admiration for Barcelona, who have dominated the footballing world, in recent years.
He recently visited a training session where he also exchanged jerseys with Barcelona co-captain Andres Iniesta. Maybe in retirement Kobe will get a chance to go across to Europe and see the Blaugrana in action.
Bryant is hoping to be in action again when the Lakers face the Chicago Bulls, despite dislocating his finger against the Spurs.
