For many Lakers fans, life without Kobe Bryant is the last thing they want to think about. But the man himself has definitely been thinking, and he has a plan post-retirement.

After a 20-year run with the L.A Lakers, it's easy to imagine the Black Mamba might stay around in California and lend his hand to the front office, offering his basketball wisdom to help rebuild the Lakers.

However, it seems the 18-time NBA All-Star has his heart set on a venture further afield, particularly in telling stories.

The five-time NBA champion has founded Kobe Studios - under the umbrella of Kobe Inc. - so the career-long Laker can hopefully produce stories through a number of different platforms.

Bryant told the Orange County Register: "What my passion is now is creating the story, creating the story and finding the best possible way, the medium which that story can live.

“Some stories will be created. Some stories will be fantasy in nature, others reality-based,” Kobe confirmed. “But we will look for content that inspires a generation of people.”

Bryant explained his stories will be told through movies, books and “any area in which content is distributed and created.”

The legendary shooting guard has created a fair few stories of his own during his glittering career. If you consider Bryant's inhuman determination, competitiveness and drive, there's every chance Kobe won't rest until his business is a success.

It might come as a surprise that the two-time Finals MVP will step away from his beloved L.A Lakers completely, and it's anyone's guess whether Bryant will return down the road in an executive role or not.

Kobe Inc. is headquartered in Newport Beach, Orange County, California. The 37-year-old icon's enthusiasm for his new project can only be a good thing and perhaps two decades in Califonia, on Hollywood's doorstep, will help Bryant's vision come to fruition sooner rather than later.

Kobe is a born winner. Will Kobe Inc. follow suit?
