For a while now, WWE has lacked the star presence of the past. Gone are the days when WWE boasted a roster that, to name a few, consisted of The Rock, Stone Cold, Mankind, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Edge and The Undertaker.
The reality is WWE in the late 90's stumbled across a golden generation of talent in much the same way Manchester United had their golden generation in the 90's. Talent like the ones mentioned in reality come along once in a lifetime. So it was always going to be the case that a day would come when fans were bemoaning a lack of stars like they saw in yesteryear.
However, over the last 12 months, the emergence of two new talents could be superstars for many years to come, and the future storylines they will embrace will leave most WWE fans salivating at the mere thought. These two talents come in the form of what would have been impossible to even imagine years ago. They are Sasha Banks and current NXT Women's Champion, Bayley.

Towards the end of last year, Bayley and Sasha took part in two of the most compelling matches that the WWE Universe have witnessed in many years. Their match, at NXT Takeover Respect, where the two competed in a 30-minute Iron Man match, and it was voted in many wrestling publications by journalists and fans alike as the match of 2015. Rightly so!
It had everything every wrestler on the planet strives for; it had emotion, physicality and above all else, fantastic story telling over a 30-minute period by both ladies.
Many people thought that Bayley and Banks had a match of the year at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in August, so when the two produced an even better match in October, they proved they're more than a one hit wonder. They have a huge amount of talent that could lead the WWE into a new age.
Women's sport is at an all-time high at the moment across the globe. Sasha Banks and Bayley could become to the WWE what Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm are to UFC. The example of UFC with Ronda Rousey becoming probably only second to Conor McGregor in draw power in the whole company is worth pointing out.
Dana White UFC president famously once said no women would fight in UFC. That's because nobody could have for seen a talent of Ronda Rousey's calibre, let alone a worthy nemesis in the shape of Holly Holm coming along.
If most fans are honest, while there have been many talented diva wrestlers over the years, most fans would not have liked or even bought into the idea of a female in the main event at a WWE pay-per-view. However, there is no doubt Bayley and Sasha could produce a performance that could main event any WWE pay-per-view, and that's including WrestleMania.
The idea of a Divas Revolution is not a new one to WWE. The original idea of SmackDown was to launch it as an all female show. This came in the Attitude Era when WWE Divas were selling huge merchandise and were a huge part of the ratings war with WCW in the Monday Night Wars, but Vince got cold feet on the idea of an all-female show not seeing it as a sustainable option.
The Divas Revolution is more than an advertising slogan. It is a true and real movement that is getting stronger and stronger. It's apparent WWE does have a golden generation in its company and it comes in the form of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Asuka and Dana Brooke and that's not including The Bella twins and Paige and Natalya.
These females hold the key to future. In years to come, they will be spoken of as game changers when it comes to female wrestling and the attitude to it.
Now is the time to give these genuine talents the platform they need to take the world by storm. In 20 years time, when wrestling writers speak of this period of wrestling, they will call it the 'Era of the Divas Revolution'.
