How they reached the last 16

United advanced to the last-16 thanks to an emphatic 5-1 victory over Danish outfit Midtjylland at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Louis van Gaal’s side went 1-0 down, leaving them requiring three goals to progress to their next round following their 2-1 defeat in Denmark, but the manager’s blushes were spared thanks to two brilliant performances from Memphis Depay and 18-year-old debutant Marcus Rashford.

Liverpool, meanwhile, sealed their place in the next round thanks to James Milner’s penalty against Augsburg while Tottenham recorded an impressive 3-0 in over Fiorentina at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are favourites from England's trio

Of the three Premier League teams still in the competition, it’s Spurs who are favourites to win the competition.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are second favourites with some bookmakers at 7-1.

Liverpool and United are both at 8-1, with Borussia Dortmund the current favourites to lift the trophy at St. Jakob-Park in Basel on May 18.
