Triple H accepts Dean Ambrose's WWE World Heavyweight Championship challenge on Raw

Dean Ambrose was given a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match by Triple H at the end of Monday Night Raw last night, but the date of that clash has yet to be confirmed.

The Game kicked off Raw, stating how Roman Reigns should never have challenged him, mocking the injury he caused to him on last week's show as well. Ambrose came out and defended his former Shield brother, but also said The Cerebral Assassin was too afraid to face him and asked him for a title shot.

Triple H said he would think about it and then booked him in a match against Alberto Del Rio for later on in the night. That match ended in an Ambrose win via disqualification, after the League of Nations interfered and attacked The Lunatic Fringe.

The Game was on the apron during the beat down and mocked Ambrose afterwards, only for The Lunatic Fringe to jump up and attack the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, who responded with a Pedigree. He then accepted Dean's WWE title challenge and continued with his assault, smashing the former Shield member into the announce table.

These two segments were the highlights of Monday Night Raw this week because it showed what the dynamics of a face and heel feud should look like, with Ambrose being cheered and Triple H being booed by the WWE Universe.

The Lunatic Fringe is connecting more with the crowd as a face then what Reigns did last week during his beat down. Fans celebrated when The Big Dog bled from his nose on the previous show, but they booed The Game when he attacked Ambrose.

It will be interesting to see how the WWE approaches Dean's title shot moving forward. As the date of his title bout has not been booked yet, there are several different angles which the company could take for this storyline.

There have been rumors that the Ambrose vs Triple H WWE title match will take place on March 12 at the "March to WrestleMania: Live from Toronto" special, which will be featured live on the WWE Network. According to Wrestling Inc, someone at WWE did jump the gun and advertise The Game as defending the championship at the event, but this was later retracted. This title defense could be against The Lunatic Fringe.

There is also the possibility Ambrose could be inserted into the main event at WrestleMania 32 on April 3, and pull double duty on the night. He his currently scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at the event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas but he could easily be inserted into the Reigns vs Triple H clash later in the show as well.

Putting Dean into the main event at WrestleMania will help WWE avoid the catastrophe of Reigns being booed if he defeats The Game for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

As previously mentioned, Ambrose is being received better by the WWE Universe than The Big Dog at the moment. Having him in the match leaves the door open for the WWE to put the title on The Lunatic Fringe to stop a negative reaction at the end of the show.

We'll have to wait and see for the WWE to confirm when Dean Ambrose will be receiving his WWE title shot against Triple H.
