The WWE have confirmed the Tag Team Championships will be on the line during next week's Monday Night Raw at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

The current Tag Team Champions, The New Day, will be defending their titles against the newly formed team of AJ Styles and Chris Jericho, known as Y2AJ, on the show.

The WWE has also confirmed Shane McMahon will be appearing at the event to respond to what The Undertaker and Vince McMahon said on Monday night during Raw in Nashville, Tennessee.

On Raw, The New Day stood in the middle of the ring and claimed to be the best three-man tag in WWE history, and they will fight anyone on the planet that thinks otherwise. The Phenomenal One and Y2J came out and they had a match.

They had a good match, with Styles and Jericho working well with one another once again, and the clash ended when The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla countered Kofi Kingston's Trouble in Paradise with the Walls of Jericho, forcing The New Day member to tap out.

This non-title match victory led to Y2AJ challenging The New Day for the Tag Team Championships next week on Raw, which the WWE accepted and scheduled.

If Jericho and Styles are able to win the clash, this would be The Phenomenal One's first ever WWE championship since he made his debut at the Royal Rumble earlier this year. This would also be Y2J's eighth time as a Tag Team Champion in the WWE. He last held the title alongside the Big Show in 2009.

WWE must be careful not to take the feud between The New Day and Y2AJ all the way to WrestleMania 32 later this year because both Jericho and Styles work better as singles competitors. They're simply too good on their own for the WWE to book them as a tag team.

In his short time in the WWE, AJ has already shown what kind of star he could be for the company if he is given the opportunity. The company mustn't squander this opportunity in his first WrestleMania by putting him in a tag match, but the build up so far indicates that The Phenomenal One will be competing as part of a team.

The WWE's tag team division is full of teams which The New Day could face, such as the League of Nations, but Y2AJ might just be the most loved team by the WWE Universe at the moment that can actually challenge them for the title.

Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods are so over at the moment, it's tough seeing who they could lose the titles to. They definitely deserve to walk into WrestleMania with the championships, but it looks like Y2AJ willing be walking out as the new champions at the end of the event.
