WWE: Who should end Bayley's run as NXT Women's Champion?

It’s no secret that Bayley is one of – if not the most – popular star we’ve ever had on NXT as she manages to connect with her fans like nobody else can.

Obviously, her character is targeted towards the children, but every time you see her in action, you can see plenty of Bayley t-shirts around the arena because she is somebody who genuinely has an impact on thousands of fans.

That sort of impact bodes well for her future on the main roster, and it’s now simply a matter of when and not if she moves to the main roster. She’ll be a huge addition to the main roster but at the same time, she’s a huge loss to NXT as she’s played a pivotal role in women’s wrestling standing out.

There will be a time when Bayley needs to let go of her NXT Women’s Championship, and the woman to do that will have immense pressure on her shoulders to continue elevating the prestige of the title. Let’s take a look at some of the options Triple H and co have when the time comes to crown a new champion.

The most exciting female on the NXT roster today is Asuka, and she continues to show that every single time she’s out in the ring. Her arrival was met with great excitement, but there was always that doubt as to whether she’d be a huge success on NXT or whether she’d get lost in the pack.

It’s safe to say she’s exceeded all expectations, but that’s what everyone expected from her. She brings energy to every match she’s in, she has a unique look, an amazing move-set and she gets the fans pumped up for all of her matches.

Asuka may even dethrone Bayley as early as April, she’s capable of it, and it’s clear Triple H has faith in her by putting her in this sort of match. She can handle the pressure of the occasion, and she will be a great champion as well if the opportunity comes knocking.

Alexa Bliss is someone you probably wouldn’t expect to see in the NXT Women’s Championship picture, but she’s improved massively over the past year, and she’s someone who can be a great champion on NXT.

Bliss has her plus points as well, she’s very young so she has plenty of time to make an impact but it’d be great experience for her to go out there and run through the division as a young champion as it could benefit her. She has a marketable look and it’s something they’d look to capitalise on because she’s someone who can get a huge fan base and shift merchandise.

She has the charisma and is great on the microphone; she’s continuing to improve inside of the ring as we’ve seen in some of her matches and she’s embracing her heel role perfectly. She’s an underdog; she's not someone you’d think who can get to the top of NXT but at the same time she can probably pull off a huge surprise.

Carmella is an interesting choice because of the unique bond she has with Bayley, so she seems like a natural choice to go with. At the same time, with Enzo Amore and Big Cass moving up to the main roster very soon perhaps Carmella will be joining them and may miss out on the opportunity of holding the NXT Women’s Championship.

She’s over with the fans; they love her because she’s fit in perfectly with Enzo and Big Cass, and the trio have become a huge part of NXT. It will be strange to see her on NXT without Enzo and Big Cass but at the same time, it’s a huge opportunity for her to build her own image and identity.

She’s good in the ring, she clearly has the charisma, the microphone work and has a fantastic look as well; everything you’d want in your NXT Women’s Champion.

This is something no fan wants to see as it’s the equivalent of Roman Reigns walking out with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, only ten times worse. At the end of the day, it makes perfect sense for a heel to dethrone the ultimate face in Bayley.

Heels don’t come bigger than Eva Marie right now over on NXT as she can draw nuclear heat like nobody else can. She shouldn’t even try to change that. Instead, she should try and get even more heat, so she becomes the number one heel in the company.

Just imagine the reaction if she pins Bayley’s shoulders to the mat? We finally have another heel singles champion on NXT and Eva Marie will have achieved something inside of the ring.

She clearly needs to improve, but she too has a great look which the WWE want to capitalise on. If she can continue working hard in the Performance Center and continues to work as a heel, she could be a memorable champion.

Nia Jax is another who does need a little improvement, but she’s somebody who can be an NXT Women’s Champion for a very long time. There was a lot of hype surrounding her arrival and it’s clear they have faith in her to achieve big things and not just because of her family.

She’s a unique star because of her size but she moves quite well, and it’s good for mixing up the division, so they’re not all the same. Much like Eva, she can be a great heel too but it’s more of the fact that she could be someone who is almost impossible to beat, and that’s something we lack on NXT.

She’s a realistic champion, she looks like she can defeat anybody and nobody can keep her down. The good thing is she’s already lost, so we know she can be beaten and there won’t be a mysterious, unbeaten aura around her which brings unnecessary pressure. If anybody can defeat Bayley and make it look plausible, a dominant Nia Jax is the answer.
