Cicinho believes Miralem Pjanic would play ‘very well’ for Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid defender Cicinho insists that Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic would be ideal for the Los Blancos.

Cicinho, who is currently plying his trade in Turkey for Sivasspor, considers the youngster as a brilliant talent who could walk straight into the first-team at Santiago Bernabeu.


He finds the Bosnian’s style-of-play similar to that of Croatian maestro Luka Modric.

Cicinho, who also spent five years in Rome, is familiar with the expectations and ambitions of the respective clubs.

In an interview with, the 35-year-old stated: “Pjanic would fit at Real Madrid. He plays more or less like [Luka] Modric. If Real Madrid sign him, he will play very well.”

The Galacticos and the Serie A side face off in the Champions League on Tuesday, with the Spanish giants leading 2-0 courtesy their first-leg win away in the Italian capital.

He further added: “Pjanic is a key player to Roma. If Real Madrid stop him, Roma will lose a lot.”

The Bosnian international has been an integral part of the Giallorossi since his move from Ligue 1 five years back.

The 25-year-old is having an impressive season, scoring 11 goals and assisting ten in 33 games for the Stadio Olimpico-based outfit.


However, there will not be any shortage of interest across Europe as Premier League heavyweights Chelsea are also in pursuit and they think with the appointment of Antonio Conte as their next boss, Pjanic could be convinced to join the Blues, as reported by the Independent.

Deemed as one of the most versatile playmakers in world football, the former Lyon star has come of age in recent seasons and experts believe he has the potential to be among the greatest of his generation.
