Shane McMahon's RAW segment was meant to be so different

Shane McMahon's return to WWE has lit a spark around WrestleMania 32 which won't soon be put out.

The son of Vince McMahon is set to take on the Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match at Mania for the right to control Monday Night RAW.

Last minute changes

This past Monday saw Shane once again appear on RAW in a segment that looked to serve one very simple purpose - to show he is ready for Mania.

However it now looks like the segment was heavily changed from what was originally planned to happen.

Watching Shane take out four security officers was pretty entertaining, but it was apparently a lot different to what was originally written.

Rumours have surfaced that claimed that Shane was simply meant to address the comments of Stephanie McMahon a week earlier.

Shane was supposedly meant to declare that Stephanie must uphold her word that her and her husband will quit if Shane wins at WrestleMania.

Shane was meant to say that if she doesn't stick to her word, they would both be fired the following night on RAW but the plans were changed in the last few hours before the event.

The reason for the change? Apparently Shane got lost during his first return promo two weeks ago meaning that Vince had to cover for him.

If the plan now is to avoid Shane making longer speeches because of his possible inability to deliver them, then surely it will be difficult to build enough hype for his clash with the Undertaker.

On the other hand, if they give us more scenes like this, I doubt people will mind.
