How the WWE can make the most out of Chris Jericho vs AJ Styles at WrestleMania

The short-lived pairing of Y2AJ looks as if it’s heading to a WrestleMania match between two of the finest wrestlers around in Chris Jericho and AJ Styles.

Jericho was Style’s first feud since arriving at the WWE at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and they traded wins before Styles won their rubber match at Fastlane.

At one stage it looked as if we were heading to WrestleMania with a tag team match on the cards. The New Day would be defending the WWE Tag Team Championships against Y2AJ, who were incredibly over with the crowd.

As we now know, Jericho turned heel and that match won’t be happening. Instead, their feud could be settled at WrestleMania but with Styles leading 2-1, does it really make a difference?

Although it’ll be great to see another fantastic wrestling match between the pair, we’ve seen it three times in a short space of time. The WWE need to make this potential match stand out the most and that means they need to add something to it for us fans to be invested in their fourth singles match.

Here are the possible additions they could make to the potential match at WrestleMania 32.

The WWE aren’t strangers when it comes to having two out of three fall matches at big events, most recently we saw Kalisto and Alberto Del Rio compete in one at the Royal Rumble in what was a solid match.

This is a match where both sets of fans want their favourite stars to go out there and steal the show. There’s no real gimmick involved, no championships or anything of that sort. It’s just two incredible wrestlers wanting to prove they’re the better wrestler on the biggest stage possible.

The two of them won’t be sharing the ring anytime soon once Jericho makes his way out again so they should look to capitalise on the unique situation they’re in. They have the chemistry; the fans love them both and they deserve to see a brilliant match.

With so many absences from WrestleMania this year, including the likes of John Cena, Seth Rollins, Cesaro and Randy Orton, more time may be given to other matches and a Jericho vs. Styles match is one which could benefit from the extra time.

The two of them have too much talent between them only to go out there and have a 15-minute match, who knows how many more WrestleMania’s they’ll be a part of? So it would be a great moment for the duo to go out there for 30 minutes or an hour if we’re pushing it, and putting on a match which will keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

This will show how much faith they have in Styles as a competitor and it will also mark the end of a great feud between two of the finest wrestlers around.

The only problem with this idea is that the WWE are highly unlikely to grant a mid-card match that kind of time. Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart - two of the biggest names in the history of the business - main evented WrestleMania 12 with an hour-long match.

This has to be the most popular option to go with; it ’s something different considering we’ve seen enough standard singles matches between the pair.

Although we saw Styles make Jericho tap to the Calf Crusher, we haven’t really seen the Walls of Jericho play a big role or put Styles in trouble. Perhaps a submission match will put even more focus on what Styles has to offer in the submission department while making the Walls of Jericho look more dangerous than ever.

There are plenty of singles matches taking place on the night; a submission match can help this stand out even more.

If the WWE don’t go ahead with any of the above and opt for another singles match, it doesn’t mean it needs to end in standard fashion either.

The rumours surrounding the imminent arrivals of Doc Gallows and ‘Machine Gun’ Karl Anderson continue to hot up and they could be on the main roster as early as the night after WrestleMania.

However, if the WWE want to introduce them in the best way possible and make their debut memorable, they would be wise to have them debut after the match and align themselves with AJ Styles. It would make the match more talked about and would go down as one of the most memorable WrestleMania debuts.
