Conor McGregor called out for fight by a Premier League star

The pressure is on for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, as they're still five points behind the league leaders Leicester City in the title race.

If there is anyone in the Spurs lineup that knows how to stay calm under the pressure which the title hunt brings, it's their striker Harry Kane. The 19 goals he has scored so far has helped the team from North London stay near the top of England's top flight for the majority of the season.

After scoring a brace against Aston Villa last Sunday, the England star posted a video on his Twitter, showing how he keeps himself calm. Through boxing.

Retweeting his teammate's video, rising star Dele Alli suggested a possible opponent for Kane if his boxing skills took flight, UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.

He said on his Twitter: "Harry to fight Mcgregor.. @ericdier to fight Joshua! Let's make this happen".

It certainly would be a fight to remember, seeing Kane square off against McGregor in the octagon, but it's probably not going to happen. The English striker would probably be destroyed by the Irish-born fighter in less the amount of time it took him to win the UFC Featherweight Championship from Jose Aldo at UFC 194.

For Spurs, they'll be looking to deliver a knockout blow in Leicester City's title campaign so they can lift the Premier League trophy for the first time in their history. Kane will hope he can become the league's top goalscorer for the season along the way.

Then, he'll be looking to lead the line for England when they travel to France for the European Championship this summer, and attempt to help his country an international tournament for the first time since the 1966 World Cup.

For McGregor, he is currently rumored to have his next fight at UFC 200. Here, it has been speculated that he could have one of several opponents at the event.

He could have a rematch against Nate Diaz - the American fighter who made him submit to a rear-naked choke in the second round at UFC 196 - or he could defend his UFC Featherweight title against either Aldo - in what would also be a rematch - or Frankie Edgar, who has recently been sending the Irish champion videos to intimidate him.

Still Harry Kane vs Conor McGregor is a dream match up that many UFC and Tottenham Hotspur fans would love to see. Maybe someone will use the Create a Fighter mode on the new UFC video game, create a Harry Kane in the game, and set up a match. That's probably as close as we'll ever get to this match taking place.
