England lost the toss and were asked to bat first in their must-win World Twenty20 clash against Sri Lanka in Delhi.

Knowing victory would take them into the semi-finals and defeat would see them heading home, Eoin Morgan's side wanted to chase but were denied that opportunity when Angelo Mathews inserted them at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

That means fit-again opener Alex Hales will be into the action early having returned to the side in place of James Vince.

Sri Lanka did not recall spinner Sachithra Senanayake but brought in Dasun Chanaka for Nuwan Kulasekara.
