Arian Foster set to meet with the Miami Dolphins

Football News

It hasn't been a very successful off- season so far for the Miami Dolphins who have arguably lost more than they have brought in.

They saw star defensive end Olivier Vernon sign a huge deal with the New York Giants and their starting runningback will be suiting up for the Houston Texans next season.

Dolphins struggling

While the Dolphins have lost a lot of talent this off- season, it seems like their struggles can be surmised by the runningback position.

The Dolphins have tried their luck with C.J. Anderson - who saw their offer matched by the Denver Broncos and then they hosted Chris Johnson who instead chose to re-sign with the Arizona Cardinals.

Now it seems that the Dolphins have switched their focus to a runningback who several teams have been somewhat cagey about.

The Dolphins will now be hosting former Texans runningback Arian Foster for a visit on Tuesday - presumably with a view to signing him to a permanent deal.

With the Dolphins looking set to send a runningback to Houston and gain one from there, the fans will have to ask if Foster is a step up from Lamar Miller?

Former Texans star Foster hasn't signed with a team yet with some teams looking hesitant about signing him given his struggles with injury.

Foster only starred in four games during the Texans 2015 season and there are a lot of doubts over his fitness at this stage of the off-season.

Miami could be the place for Foster to rejuvenate his career, or it could be a sub-par runningback joining a sub- par team.

Tough challenge

If Foster does join the Dolphins, he will be entering a very difficult and competitive AFC East and he will arguably be joining the team expected to finish bottom of the division.

With the always favoured New England Patriots set for arguably their biggest challenge in years from the New York Jets, it is hard to see any other teams competing for the division title.
