Arsene Wenger’s side were seeking revenge on the Hornets after they knocked them out of the quarter-final of the FA Cup last month. Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Alex Iwobi, Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott saw the north London club pick up a vital three points, meaning they are now just three points behind Spurs.

While Sanchez was back to his irresistible best, it was Iwobi that received the majority of the plaudits from Gooners.

The 19-year-old was making just his second start for Arsenal - following a goal on his full debut against Everton before the international break.

Wenger has spoken incredibly highly of the Nigerian on numerous times already this season and it appears that the winger is living up to the hype.

Well, that’s according to Twitter because the Arsenal fans were absolutely loving the performance of Iwobi.

It appears that Iwobi and Danny Welbeck have earned the trust of their manager and are being selected ahead of the likes of Oliver Giroud and Walcott. Their pace and work-rate can trouble any defence and the pair will be vital if Arsenal are to win their first Premier League trophy since 2004.

While Arsenal are thoroughly enjoying Iwobi’s progression, England fans will be wishing they could call upon the talented youngster.

Iwobi played for England at Under 16,17 and 18 level but has already represented Nigeria’s senior team on three occasions.
