Football News

Zinedine Zidane proved his doubters wrong on Saturday night by helping Real Madrid secure their first La Liga win at the Camp Nou since April 2012.

Los Blancos came from 1-0 down to secure a 2-1 victory, despite having Sergio Ramos sent off towards the end of the match, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the winning goal in the 85th minute.

Minutes before Ronaldo’s winner, however, there was a hilarious moment when Zidane lost his cool on the touchline and performed a bizarre cartwheel-esque move. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).

Ronaldo took a shot from just inside the penalty area which beat Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo but hit the crossbar.

Zidane thought it was in and couldn’t hide his disappointment and frustration to see the ball bounce off the woodwork.

Real Madrid secure an unlikely victory

Real Madrid’s head coach knew that was probably his side’s best chance to take all three points from the match.

And victory seemed even more likely when Ramos was sent off for the 20th time in his career a minute later.

However, Ronaldo scored soon after his teammates’ dismissal - against all the odds - as Real Madrid blew the title race in Spain wide open.
