Real Madrid upset the odds last night at the Nou Camp, beating Barcelona 2-1 in El Clasico thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

And while it will be Ronaldo's late winner that will grab the headlines this morning, few who were there will forget Benzema's brilliant acrobatic effort.

Barcelona went into the game with a 10-point lead over their great rivals at the top of the Spanish league table, but that gap is down to seven after last night's showdown, while Atletico Madrid are very much in the mix as well.

After a goalless first-half, Barcelona took the lead through Gerard Pique and the hosts appeared to be cruising - but then Benzema struck.

Real Madrid burst forward through Gareth Bale and Marcelo on the counter attack, before the ball deflected into the box and sat up perfectly for Benzema to athletically launch a bicycle kick into the back of the net. You can check out the superb goal in the video at the bottom of this article.

Zinedine Zidane's team were on top from that point onwards - but suffered a setback when Sergio Ramos was sent off with less than 10 minutes to go.

Madrid could have been forgiven for crumbling after that given their underwhelming season to date - but Ronaldo struck just two minutes later, much to the delight of the travelling Madridistas.

While Barcelona remain favourites to retain their league crown, Madrid's win will offer them a much-needed boost ahead of the return of the Champions League later this month.

Do you think Madrid have any chance of catching Barcelona this season?
