Real Madrid may well have endured a torrid outing in Germany on Wednesday night as they succumbed to defeat at the hands of Wolfsburg, but it's safe to say that Zinedine Zidane's side have responded in style this afternoon.

Led by Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the Spanish giants secured an emphatic 4-0 victory against Eibar to keep their faint hopes of securing the La Liga title alive.

It took Real just three minutes to open the scoring thanks to a sublime free-kick from James Rodriguez. The midfielder has been the subject of criticism recently, but his classy goal may well stand him in good stead in his pursuit of redemption at the Bernabeu.

One man who certainly doesn't have anything to prove is Ronaldo; the ex-Manchester United man assisted Lucas Vazquez, who doubled Real's lead.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo managed to get on the score sheet as he tapped home to make it 3-0 after just 18 minutes.

In fact, with his latest goal, Ronaldo has broken yet another La Liga record. Incredibly, he is the first player to score 30 or more goals in six successive seasons in Spain's elite division. Ronaldo's ruthless goalscoring ability really has to be admired.

Ronaldo's also fairly good at assisting goals and he turned provider once again as Jesse made it 4-0 to Zidane's side before half-time. It's safe to say that Real slowed things down slightly in the second half, but they will be satisfied with the result nonetheless.
