Jurgen Klopp reveals why he would never sign an a*******

It's safe to say that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is one of the most unpredictable managers in world football, but his philosophy is quite clear: his players must fight for the cause.

That's why, then, he has insisted that he would never sign an a******* as it's important for his players to be motivated.

It's clear for all to see that a number of Liverpool's stars are already taking to their new manager - their latest victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League confirmed that notion - but it's still expected that the German coach will add players to his squad this summer.

It appears that the revered boss will only sign players with a similar attitude to the one had he had as a player.

"I was a fighting machine with a will of iron," he told men's lifestyle magazine The Red Bulletin, as per the Mirror.

Fight for the cause

"Anyone can have a good day but you have to be able to perform on a bad day.

"That's what you live for as a sportsman. You have to put up a fight.

"If you are full of motivation as a player, if you are full of concentration I am open arms.

"If you are not, of course [I am hard] but only because to work with players who don't understand the professional part of this life is a waste of time.

"I would never sign an a******* just because he's great at football."

Additions expected

Clearly, the dynamic is already changing at Liverpool and Klopp doesn't need to make a whole host of changes in the next transfer window.

But a few top class additions really could put the Reds in contention next season. With Klopp at the helm, there's every chance that the club will go from strength-to-strength over the coming years.

How many players should Klopp sign this summer? Have your say below!
