The UFC has found another one of its fighters get in trouble over the weekend after it was revealed that Diego Brandao had been arrested and charged after a recent incident.

According to a report from the Albuquerque Journal, the Brazilian fighter has landed himself in trouble with the law after some recent antics at a strip club in Albuquerque.

Apparently, the former Ultimate Fighter champion decided to hit an employee of the strip club with the butt of a gun, pistol-whipping the poor dude.

The 28-year-old Brazilian has been charged with aggravated battery and three counts of aggravated assault.

Brandao is accused of pointing a gun at a patron and an employee before striking the employee in the face with the weapon. Prior to that, he allegedly argued with a DJ and attempted to punch employees before being denied reentry to the club.

Via Deadspin:

"Brandao reportedly pointed the gun at the patron’s chest and then at the employee before striking him in the face with the butt of the handgun, police said.

"The man said Brandao pointed the gun at the group once more before walking back to his vehicle, according to the complaint."

The UFC have released a statement about the incident.

“We are aware that UFC featherweight Diego Brandao was arrested Friday following an altercation at a business establishment in Albuquerque, N.M. We are in the process of gathering more information at this time," it read.

“While we are concerned by the nature of the reported allegations, it is important to note that Brandao is entitled to due process in a court of law.

“We will have no further comment until more information can be gathered.”

Brandao was last in action at UFC 195 in Las Vegas on January 2, when he was submitted in the third round by Brian Ortega. He tested positive for marijuana metabolites in a drug test prior to that loss and has been provisionally suspended since.
